Could you please supply me with the number of responses from
members of the public on the Big City Plan documents in the recent
consultation period.

I would be grateful if these could be broken down into numbers
received on the 'leaflet' and the 'work in progress' document, and
by response type: email, post, in person, or via the Limehouse
consultation portal.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

I refer to your inquiry dated 13th February 2009 regarding 'breakdown on
the number of responses from members of the public on the Big City Plan
documents in the recent consultation period'.

Please find enclosed a spreadsheet of the breakdown of the comments on the
Big City Plan.

In addition, the following information can be found on the Big City Plan
website. These figures are a summary of the spreadsheet:

Birmingham City Council***s formal consultation on the Big City Plan
***Work in Progress*** Report ran from the 12th December 2008 to the 6th
February 2009.

The City Council carried out a range of consultation activities that were
intended to meet, but also to exceed the requirements of the Council***s
adopted Statement of Community Involvement and Government guidance for
this type of consultation. Other activities are ongoing. Many thanks for
'getting involved' *** the City Council has received a huge response !

All attributable comments submitted to date have now been processed on our
consultation database and are visible to all. As of 4th March, a total of
1,864 comments from a total of 273 contributors have been logged as
follows:
Directly into the consultation portal 719
Via e-mail 679
By post 409
Other 57

We are now in the process of analysing these comments, to assist in
developing the next stage of the Big City Plan.

If you are unhappy with the handling or the outcome of this request, you
are entitled to make a request for an internal review / appeal, such view
to be undertaken by Council officers not involved in the handling of your
request.
