Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work
and Pensions' handling of my FOI request 'Benefit fraud figures'.
You say it will cost more than £600 for 3.5 working days spent to
find the figures. Based on an eight hour day, you would be paying
more than £21.42 per hour, or £62,571 per annum and I suspect that
these figures must be in error. At least, in these times of
spending cuts and amidst assurances that we're all in this
together, I hope those figures are not correct.
Also, you cite the difficulty of getting data from different
Jobcentre Plus organisations. If you remain convinced that finding
this data would cost more than £600, you could have indicated the
organisations in question so I could direct individual FOI requests
to get the figures I require.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,
Ms. J. O'Connor
