J Hepple made this Freedom of Information request to Scarborough Borough Council
Waiting for an internal review by Scarborough Borough Council of their handling of this request.
From: J Hepple
11 June 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been informed that someone has applied for the Beech Walk
Play Area to be given Village Green Status. Could you please tell
me if this is true or not and if true, how far along the process
this request is?
I have also been told that once Village Green Status has been
granted, that nothing can be built on the land. Could you please
confirm this?
As I understand it, SBC are wanting to expand the Play Area at
Beech Walk. This field floods every winter. Could you therefore
please tell me what drainage plans are in place and if Planning
Permission has been granted?
I also understand that there has been a petition handed in
objecting to the expansion of this play area by the local people
(people living around Beech Walk Play Area). Could you please
inform me if SBC has to take notice of this petition or can SBC
just ignore it and do what it wants to do?
Yours faithfully,
J Hepple
