Dear Julian Jennings,

can you confirm that the "annual gross salary minus gross
allowances" was calculated by subtracting the annual gross
allowances from the annual gross salary?

As I understand it, the gross salary used on the CoS includes the
gross allowances, and to calculate the basic salary the gross
allowances must be subtracted from the gross salary. Is that
correct?

Yours sincerely,

Gary Burgess

11 February 2011

Dear Daniela Walker,

have you been able to confirm that the "annual gross salary minus
gross allowances" information in "FOI 1335 Response 2011 02 02
V1.0.pdf" was calculated by subtracting the annual gross allowances
from the annual gross salary?
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ba...

In another response I received:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/av...
which included the average for tier 2 ICT Indian Programmers in
London in December, the average salary was £27,981.57 and the
average allowance £21,139.80, so I was expecting some to have a
salary minus allownaces of less than £24,000.

Yours sincerely,

Gary Burgess
