Dear Mrs Carter

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act request of 25 June regarding expenditure by Barnsley Council on Common Purpose courses from 1997 to date.

I can inform you that the amount spent by the council in 2005 was £6,674; in 2006 £3,337, and nil since that date.

Specific expenditure on Common Purpose courses as opposed to general training and development courses between 2001 and 2005 cannot be extracted from financial records due to a change in the financial management systems used by the authority.

The council does not hold any of the information you request prior to 2001.

Where available, copies of the relevant invoices are attached, as requested in your FOI enquiry.
