Dear Mr Carruthers,
Further to my email below, I can inform you that income received by South
Norfolk District Council in respect of Barnham Broom Country and Golf Club
is what you would normally expect a local authority to receive from a
premises of this sort in its district, for example: business rates, any
licenses needed (e.g. temporary event or premises) and possibly any costs
from pest control services or planning applications submitted in a four
year period.
Regarding expenditure, South Norfolk Council has not incurred any
expenditure relating to Barnham Broom Country and Golf Club.
I hope this is of assistance and is sufficient to meet your requirements,
however If you require further, more detailed information, please feel
free to get back to me with a more precise explanation of the exact
information it is that you would like to obtain. If you are particularly
unhappy with the information provided or how your request was handled
please let me know and I will explain how you can make a complaint to the
Council.
Please quote FOI 09-217 in any further correspondence concerning this
request.

Dear Right2Know,
Is the SNDC collecting the full business rates from the property or
has it exercised discretion? There are four different billing
references according to VOA.
It is after all not every Council that has a Country Club owned by
a neighboring Conservative Council in the District..
Doubtless the SNDC has thanked Breckland for its desire to act as
an economic development agency for the SNDC.
Yours sincerely,
Stuart Hardwicke CARRUTHERS

Dear Mr Carruthers,
I can inform you that South Norfolk Council has 3 current accounts registered for Barnham Broom Country and Golf Club. None are getting discretionary relief. One gets Small Business Rate Relief but that is a mandatory relief and is not the main Barnham Broom Country and Golf Club.
I apologise that I did not answer your query relating to the register of interests. I can inform you that no member of South Norfolk Council - Conservative or Liberal Democrat, has a registered interest in Barnham Broom Country and Golf Club.
I hope that this answers you queries satisfactorily.
