Dear Southwark Borough Council, Trading Standards Department
It would be appreciated if you could inform about the following:
The number of retailers prosecuted and fined for selling banned
substances in skin bleaching products: from 2007-2011 or as long as
records have been kept.
The amount of fines in total for prosecutions of the sale of banned
substances in skin bleaching products. 2007-2011 or as long as
Trading standards records have been kept.
Is it the opinion of LBS Trading Standards & MHRA that current
penalties in place are effective and working? That the partnership
between LBS TS outcomes with the Medicines & Healthcare Products
Regulatory Agency are robust enough and act as deterrents for
Retailers to stop supplying these products.
If these above prosecutions in 2007 -2011 or earlier are the same
retailing companies, or businesses
What community groups ( as website states) are Southwark working
with from 2000-2012
Thank you in anticipation of your assistance just to inform you
that I am undertaking a research project to raise awareness about
this practise, and would welcome any support your department
support and expertise.
A contact number and email for trading standards Management would
be helpful,to assist with the action action research project,
looking at the causes and effects availability of use of Banned
Skin bleaching Products.References are submitted on request.
Yours faithfully,
kenya
