Dear Sir or Madam,

I'd be grateful if you could please tell me:

1) Do you test for bacteriophages in tap water?

2) If the answer to 1) is 'yes', which types of bacteriophage have
been found and in what quantities e.g. ppm?

Yours faithfully,

Mike Jozefiak

Dear Mike

Thank you for your enquiry.

I can confirm that we do not test for bacteriophages in tap water. We carry out extensive water quality testing in accordance with the Water Quality Regulations and like all other Water Companies, report these results to the Drinking Water Inspectorate.

All potable waters are derived from the slow response Magnesian Limestone aquifer which are subject to minimal treatment due to the high quality of source waters.

I hope that this meets your requirements.

Yours sincerely,

Kevin J Ensell
