Back yearing statistics for school admissions

Dear Poole Borough Council,
Under the freedom of
information act i would like to request the following: i would very
much like to know the statistics of the last 5 years
of requested children to be back yeared from their normal year of
entry to reception to start in reception a full year later. I would
like to know how many requested, how many were successful and how
many were rejected, and the grounds on which they won or the
grounds for refusal, i would then like the same information for
those who then took their request to appeal to the tribruneral.

Only 2 requests to back year have been made in the last 5 years and these
were in 2007 and 2009.
The request made in 2007 was successful due to a statement of special
educational needs being issued.
The request made in 2009 was rejected because the back yearing panel did
not consider the grounds for application justified.
No requests were appealed at a tribunal following a rejected application.

Dear Strategy Team - Information,
Many thanks for your reply, would it be possible for you to clarify
the 2007 case that was agreed to back year due to child having a
statement? Was it something particular on the statement that
enabled this to be agreed or simply that the child had a statement?

The 2007 case involved a child with a statement of special educational
needs. Not all statemented pupils are back yeared and there was something
specific in the statement to allow the child to be back yeared. We cannot
go into the details of this individual case for data protection reasons.
