Dear Ministry of Defence,

I hereby request the following information under the Freedom Of
Information Act.

1. I would like to request information on the number of members of
the Armed Forces who
have gone absent without leave (AWOL) in 2010 provided on a
month-by-month basis. If this is not available, please provide me
with your latest figures. I understand that in some instances, AWOL
incidents can only be a day because of administration error or
illness. Please illustrate the difference between in numbers
between the total amount of AWOL incidents and the figures for
those still AWOL.

2. Please could you provide the total figures for people who were
tried for desertion in 2010, what sentences were given out and
where they were/are being served.

Please could you break the figures down into:
(a) The number of permanent absconders
(b) The number who returned voluntarily
(c) The number who were located by police or army officials

In addition, please could you provide me with the details Army
medical discharges from January 2008 to the end of 2010.
