Dear Sir or Madam,
Please can you provide me with a list of all Awards, Honours &
Decorations (either military or civil) that were presented to
serving members of the Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR) between April
1970 & 1992 when it merged with the Royal Irish Rangers. The list
should include the award, date, citation and the recipients name &
rank.
The Northern Ireland Office have advised that they do not hold this
information.
Thank you for your assistance.
Yours faithfully,
Gavin Bamford

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your reply.
However, I feel that the MoD would have to hold this information
prior to it be published in the London Gazette as the information
would ultimately end up in regimental Orders or equivalent.
I would be grateful if you would try again to provide this
information.
Yours sincerely,
Gavin Bamford

Good afternoon Mr Bamford
In my email to you of 24 September I said I would write again with
regard to your request for a list of all Awards, Honours & Decorations
presented to serving members of the UDR. I previously informed you that
all State honours and gallantry awards made to Service Personnel are
published in the London Gazette and are available on their website. You
replied stating that you feel that the MOD would have to hold this
information prior to it being published and asked that we try again to
find the information for you.
I have made further enquiries on your behalf and can advise you that
because the information you require is already in the public domain and
therefore reasonably accessible to you there is no necessity for us to
seek to provide anything further. I hope you have now had a chance to
visit the London Gazette website and find what you require.
Yours sincerely
Pam Kay
