Dear Gary Burgess,
Thank you for your recent FOI request. Unfortunately, we are unable to
provide you with the detailed information you have requested. We can
however, provide the following information:
* Number of Tier 2 ICT approvals for Indian Nationals for
in-country nationals. We are unable to provide information on work
address, occupation or salary.
* Number of Tier 2 ICT used CoS for Indian Nationals. We are able
to provide information on work address, occupation and salary but please
note that the number of CoSs used does not necessarily lead to visa
approvals and entry to the UK.
Can you please confirm whether you wish to receive any of the
statistical information mentioned above?
We will deal with your request under the Freedom of Information Act once
we receive your requirements.

Dear Freedom of Information Team,
I would be happy for my request to be answered using:
* Number of Tier 2 ICT used CoS for Indian Nationals. We are able
to provide information on work address, occupation and salary but
please note that the number of CoSs used does not necessarily lead
to visa approvals and entry to the UK.
However, on the off chance, if it turns out you can "join" CoS with
visa application tables, so that only CoS data for approved visas
can be selected, then I would prefer that.
Thanks in advance.
Yours sincerely,
Gary Burgess

Dear Mr Burgess,
Thank you for your email of 29 June where you have further clarified your request for information. This falls to be dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and we will endeavour to respond within 20 working days.
We will be proving you with the following information:
* Number of Tier 2 ICT used Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) for Indian Nationals. We are able to provide information on work address, occupation and salary but please note that the number of CoSs used does not necessarily lead to visa approvals and entry to the UK.
Please note that we are unable to provide you with data that " 'joins' Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) with visa application tables, so that only CoS data for approved visas can be selected". We would have to trawl through each individual record to locate and retrieve this information which would take us over £600 cost limit under the Freedom of Information Act.
As part of the Home Office, the UK Border Agency is not obliged to comply with any information request where the prescribed costs of supplying you with the information exceed £600. The £600 limit applies to all central government departments and is based on work being carried out at a rate of £25 per hour, which equates to 3½ days work per request. Prescribed costs include those which cover the cost of locating and retrieving information, and preparing our response to you.
Kind Regards
Daniela Walker

Dear UK Border Agency,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of UK Border Agency's
handling of my FOI request 'Average Salary on CoS for Software
Engineers etc'.
The Home Affairs Select Committee, MAC, and UKBA have been holding
consultations on the proposed cap. The impact on public services of
migration and fiscal contribution of migrants workers is a key part
of these. It is in the public interest that this information is
made available.
The split between taxed salary and allowances covered by an HMRC
dispensation is important.
I am quite happy to have the requested information for all inner
London without post codes so that the identity of individuals and
sponsors cannot be inferred.

Dear Gloria Akinyemi,
thank you for the internal review.
I now appreciate that you cannot give out the salary and allowance
values from individual CoS (for me to calculate the average) even
where it would be virtually impossible to identify an individual or
company.
As I only want the average, would it be acceptable for the FOI team
to calculate this for me from the data that has been withheld?
Can I request the average salary and average allowance from the
data for those with a Job Title of "ANALYST PROGRAMMER" or "Analyst
