I write in connection with your request for information which was received
by this office on June 8, 2009. I understand you are requesting the
following information:

I am requesting information on the release of information of the companies
that employ the police force and what is the polices job and which laws do
they have to adhere to

Your request will be considered in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. You should expect to be sent a response within the
statutory limit of 20 working days, subject to the provisions of the Act.

Dear Mr Baker,

I write in connection with your request for information, which was
received on June 8, 2009 requesting the following information:

i am requesting information on the release of information of the companies
that employ the police force and what is the polices job and which laws do
they have to adhere to

Unfortunately I am unable to progress with your request at this time.

With regard to your request for information 'on the release of information
of the companies that employ the police force' the Finance Department has
advised that there are no companies that 'employ' the police force on a
permanant basis, however, the constabulary will occasionally make charges
for police services at public events for example, football matches.

To enable us to meet your request please could you provide this office
with further information.

1. Please can you define what you mean by 'companies that employ the
police force.'

2. Please can you list what information you require, specifically, whether
you require names of organisations that have been charged, amounts that
have been charged, specific events etc, that may have been charged for.

3. Please can you provide a timescale over which you require the listed
information (for example, the calendar year 2007, the financial year
08/09, the month of July 2008 etc, or date parameters between which you
require us to search.)

4. Please can you also what you mean by 'what is the police's job and
which laws do they have to adhere to' and what type of information you
expect to receive in relation to this question. As the above referenced
policy shows, the charges made by the police force are based upon the
provisions in section 25 of the Police Act 1996.

After receiving your reply, your request will then be considered and you
will receive the information requested within the statutory 20 working
days as defined under the Act, subject to the provisions of that Act.

However, if the requested information has not been received by September
23, 2009 I will assume you will no longer wish to proceed with this
request and it will be treated as withdrawn.
