Dear Liverpool City Council,

Will you supply me with details of communication aids
[Augmentative and alternative communication] currently identified
in community care assessments and identified as a need.Such items
such as Dianavox Rightwriter Iphone with speech software or any
other communication aid.I would like to know how many people who
have poor or no speech have a speech aid in particular
the electronic type and how many have been supplied by the trust
during the last five years..If you do not have these records why do
you
not have these records and where would this be recorded.
Could you also supply me with your communication policy

City Council. Your request was received in our offices on 25 November
2010 and, is being processed in accordance with the Freedom of Information
Act 2000.

The information you have requested can be summarised as follows:

1. Will you supply me with details of communication aids [Augmentative
and alternative communication] currently identified in community care
assessments and identified as a need. Such items such as Dianavox
Rightwriter Iphone with speech software or any other communication
aid.

2. I would like to know how many people who have poor or no speech have a
speech aid in particular the electronic type and how many have been
supplied by the trust during the last five years.

3. If you do not have these records why do you not have these records and
where would this be recorded.

4. Could you also supply me with your communication policy

If the above summary is incorrect or you wish to change any details,
please let me know at the earliest opportunity.

A response will be sent to you as soon as possible and in any case within
the statutory deadline which is 20 working days from the working day after
your request was received.

For your information, the Act defines a number of exemptions which may
prevent the release of information you have requested. There will be an
assessment and, if any of the exemption categories apply, the information
will not be provided to you. You will be informed if this is the case.

25.11.10. After speaking to the relevant officers could you provide a
response to the following:

'Liverpool City Council provides many different types of communication
aids to residents within the city boundary. However, defining
commuincation aids is complicated and therefore, to provide the exact
information you request could you specify if your request relates to all
communication aids and if not, which items this would specifically
include.'

If we do not receive clarification within 14 days we will assume you no
longer require this information and we will close the case. If you would

i am looking for information about[Augmentative and alternative
communication] currently identified
in community care assessments and or by Salt teams,communication
identified as a need.
Such items
such as Dianavox Rightwriter Iphone with speech software or any
other communication aid which facilitates speech or communication
via symbols but mainly electronic.
I would like to know how many people who
have poor or no speech have a speech aid in particular
the electronic type and how many have been supplied by the trust.
Could you break down into groups is stroke,LD.children,adults etc
,during the last five years..If you do not have these records where
could i find them?
I do not mean landline telephones connected to services/alarms
Could you also supply me with your communication policy
