Auditing of Mandatory Relief
William Thackeray made this Freedom of Information request to Audit Commission
The request was successful.
From: William Thackeray
15 March 2010
Dear Audit Commission,
My question concerns Mandatory Relief (hereditaments which are
automatically entitled to relief of all or part of their rates bill
- i.e. charities etc). This is administered by local government.
Does the Audit Commission audit the granting by local authorities
of this relief?
If so, what does this audit consist of?
Many thanks for your assistance with this matter.
Yours faithfully,
William Thackeray
