Dear Mr Birchall
Maintained Schools are not required to produce audited accounts because all maintained school accounts are consolidated into those of the Council.
I attach a copy of the 2009/10 Section 52 Budget Outturn Statement (a statutory return to the DfE) that identifies expenditure by all Bristol maintained schools. Table B shows school by school expenditure in DfE categories.
I hope this is suitable for your needs

Dear Mr Birchall
please find attached the Bishop Road report extracted from the Council's Financial Systems for the financial year 2009/10.
Under the 'fair funding' regulations schools must be provided with funding through the 'funding formula' to purchase financial services from the provider of their choice but in so doing must ensure value for money. Schools are only obliged to send financial information to the Local Authority in the format I sent you.
In this instance Bishop Road has purchased its financial system from Bristol City Council and as a result I am able to provide this detail.
For more in-depth information you would need to contact the School.

Dear Geraldine Mead,
Thank you for the spread sheet you sent. It appears to include
figures which are not specific to Bishop Road School but shows
figures for a much larger budget. Is this the entire LEA budget? It
seems that the information relevant to Bishop Road school has not
been included. It appears that there is a second sheet which did
not get sent? Please could you send figures in this format but
specifically for Bishop Road School?
Yours sincerely,
Alan Birchall
