Dear Legal Services Commission,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Legal Services
Commission's handling of my FOI request 'Audit reports on
Immigration Advisory Service'.
First of all, thank you for the swift response. However, I am not
quite sure whether my request was refused because the information
is not held or whether disclosure would harm some sort of
commercial interest. I request that this is clarified.
If the reason for refusal is damage to commercial interest, I would
be grateful if it can be clarified whose commercial interest would
be damaged. If the interests of the IAS, I would seek to challenge
this assessment on the basis that no further commercial damage
could conceivably be done to IAS, which in any event has now been
closed down.
If the reason for refusal is that a final audit report is not yet
available, I would request that this is released as soon as it is
available and I also request that previous audit reports and
information about auditing activity at IAS is released, such as the
dates of audit activities, the length of audits and any other
information that is held about auditing of IAS. Again, it is
difficult to see what commercial damage this can now do given that
IAS has been closed down and information is already in the public
domain that suggests that the most recent audit went rather badly
for the organisation.
