Dear Information Access,
Many thanks for your reply.I would like to bring the following to
your attention with relation to this shooting\Attempted murder of
Martin McGartland\Whitely Bay 17th June 1999.....
You say you can neither confirm nor deny whether you have this
information.I would like to take this opportunity to confirm this
for you if i may.Two CZ75 9mm combat pistols were seized by
Northumbria Police in relation to this incident one of which has
been forensically linked to this shooting of Mr McGartland.This
information is within the public domain.Having said that i would
like to know which 'variant' of CZ75 was used in relation to this
Attempted murder of Martin McGartland and can see no reason
whatsoever why having this information released could in anyway
shape or form 'compromise' national security or 'hamper' any police
investigation ??
Can i bring this to your attention ....and i quote
Lee Harvey Oswald used a 6.5 x 52 mm Italian Carcano M91/38
bolt-action rifle, serial number C2766. The rifle was equipped with
a 4x Hollywood brand scope. The military surplus rifle and scope
were sold through Klein's Sporting Goods Company by mail order.
We know the 'exact' rifle variant used to kill President
Kennedy.....This to certain American Governmental agencies is still
an 'unsolved crime'
You really cannot get a 'higher profile' as regards 'national
security' than matters as murdering a president or a countries
'political leader' as you would certainly agree...
Also ....
Godse assassinated Gandhi on January 30, 1948, approaching him
during a public appearance, bowing, and shooting him at close
range. The gun used by Godse was a Beretta M1934 semi-automatic
pistol in .380 ACP caliber, serial number 606824.
Also..
When we talk about 'ongoing actions' in relation to 'National
security' such as Afghanistan lets say i can tell you that weapons
and their 'variants' used by British soldiers are very much in the
public domain and the Afghanistan conflict is still 'on going' yet
i can tell you the following as a matter of coarse ....
# 1 Pistols
* 1.1 Browning Pistol (L9A1)
* 1.2 P226 SIG Pistol (L105A1, L105A2 and L106A1)
# 2 Rifles and Shotguns
* 2.1 Rifle 5.56 (L85A2)
* 2.2 Light Support Weapon (L86A2)
* 2.3 Sharpshooter rifle (L129A1)
o 2.3.1 Heckler & Koch (HK417)
* 2.4 Sniper rifle (L96)
* 2.5 Long-Range Rifle (L115A3)
* 2.6 Barrett (M82)
* 2.7 Combat Shotgun (L128A1)
# 3 Machine guns
* 3.1 Minimi light machine gun (L108A1/L110A1)
* 3.2 General Purpose Machine Gun (L7A2)
* 3.3 Heavy Machine Gun (L2A1)
* 3.4 Heckler & Koch 40mm Grenade Machine Gun
# 4 Mortars
* 4.1 51 mm Light Mortar (L9A1)
* 4.2 60 mm Mortar (M6-895)
* 4.3 81mm mortar (L16)
# 5 Anti-tank weapons
* 5.1 MBT LAW
* 5.2 FGM-148 Javelin Anti-Tank Guided Missile Launcher
# 6 Anti-structure weapons
* 6.1 Light Anti-Structures Missile (L72A9)
* 6.2 Anti-Structures Munition
# 7 Protective equipment
* 7.1 Mk.6 and Mk.7 Helmet
* 7.2 Osprey body armour and Osprey Assault body armour
If knowing 'exact' weapon variants is detrimental to 'ongoing
matters' concerning national security then can you explain these
things i have listed and why knowing which variant of CZ75 which
very nearly ended Martin McGartlands life is such a secret and
having said information released could possibly compromise national
security ?
Yours sincerely,
Jeff Hayward

Dear FOI Responses,
Thanks for your reply but i would like to point out to your
goodselves that referring to Martin McGartland as just 'McGartland'
is somewhat rude in light of the many lives he saved on your
behalf.'Mr McGartland' would have been more fitting a title ...
manners cost nothing you know : )

Dear Home Office,
I would like further information, clarification and more
importantly a detailed explanation from the Home Office on this
matter. You will already be well aware that there are already
questions of cover-up in the Martin McGartland IRA kidnapping case
and his 1999 attempted murder. The British Government are being
accused of covering-up both, both were carried out by the IRA.
Please also answer the following question;
1. Who are the the Home Office referring to by 'certain security
bodies, national security, law enforcement and personal
information.'
2. Please explain reasons why they are relying on each exemption
they have listed and more importantly how they believe each of
those exemption(s) is engaged in this matter or indeed relevant.
3. Please explain how my asking; 1) "Which variant of CZ75 combat
pistol was used in connection with the shooting.There are approx 26
variants of this pistol from 1975 onwards to date.Which variant was
the pistol ?" has resulted in the Home Office referring to and
relying on so many different
exemption(s), national security being just one of them. How are
these exemption(s) relevant in this matter? This has still not been
explained to me as yet.
4. Can you also explain why after 4 months the Home Office are
still dithering, being evasive on this issue and why they are
causing unnecessary delay in this matter.
I also find it extraordinary that the Home Office can not answer my
simple request, "Which variant of CZ75 combat pistol was used..."
in the Martin McGartland Shooting. You will of course be aware that
Northumbria Police have already in the past released, to the
public, both photo(s) of the gun which they claim was used to shoot
Martin McGartland and information on the gun(s). Why now are the
Home Office being so evasive on this subject. I hope the Home
Office will afford me a full and a detailed explanation rather than
referring to exemption(s) which are in no way relevant to this
request. The Home Office need to be open and stop covering up in
the Martin McGartland case.
I trust you will not be delaying the matter any further. I will
also be taking this case to the ICO as I maintain the Home Office
have breached the FOIA in many ways while dealing with this
request.
Yours faithfully,
Jeff Hayward

This is not the first time the British State have used the ‘National security’ tactic as an excuse for not giving a full response to controversial questions and allegations concerning their dealings with the 1999 attempted murder of ex- British agent Martin McGartland. This is what they do, they cover-up, they lie, they break the law and they are protecting the IRA terrorists who carried out the shooting of Martin McGartland, they have been doing so for the past 12 years. Just have a look at some of the dirty tricks of the British State; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11yk7p3Kp...
