Atos / Paralympics Boycott - another BBC secret?
Mr Taylor made this Freedom of Information request to British Broadcasting Corporation
The request was refused by British Broadcasting Corporation.
From: Mr Taylor
3 December 2011
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Having just watched the BBC news I was astounded, although not
surprised, that you covered a piece on whether the Paralympics
should be included in the mainstream Olympics along the views of
the disabled on that, yet no mention whatsoever was made that
disabled athletes in the UK are currently considering their
conscience to show solidarity to the disabled by joining the
boycott of the Paralympics by disabled people in the UK due to the
involvement of Atos in the Paralmpics.
http://www.channel4.com/news/campaigners...
Atos are the same company currently paid £100 million a year to
carry out disability denial on behalf of the government to remove
disabled people from state benefits, which in turn is costing the
tax payer a further £80 million to overturn these disgraceful
assessments at Tribunal.
The information I wish to request is whether the BBC made
absolutely no mention of this boycott of the Paralympics, when
covering a story on the Paralympics, due to your blanket policy of
never mentioning the words "ATOS" or "UNUM" in your version of the
"news", or was this failing due to specific instructions from the
government in this instance.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Taylor
