The dates,room numbers and names of the contractors who undertook
the removal of asbestos at the following site/buildings between the
following dates
august 2007-january 2009.
1) THE DONNAN LABS

3) THE MATHAMATIC BUILDING
4) THE WHELAN BUILDING

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your email dated 3^rd December 2009 requesting details of
removal of asbestos in University buildings between August 2007 and
January 2009.
I can confirm that the University holds the information you requested.
However, this information is exempt under Section 41 and Section 43 of the
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and is therefore being withheld.
Section 41 of the FOIA provides an exemption from disclosing information
that has been provided in confidence and the disclosure of the information
would constitute a breach of confidence actionable by the other party/ies.
The University also believes that the requested information is exempt from
disclosure in accordance with Section 43 of the FOIA on the basis that
disclosure could potentially prejudice its commercial interests. In
particular, the disclosure of such information could adversely affect the
relationship of confidence and trust which has been developed and which
encourages those concerned to feel free to make comments in such
situations.
If you are not satisfied with the University’s response to your request,
you may ask the University to review it. If you wish to do this, please
write to Mr. Kevan Ryan, Director of Legal Services, The University of
Liverpool, The Foundation Building, 765 Brownlow Hill, Liverpool, L69 7ZX,
enclosing a copy of your original request and explaining your complaint.
