From: Ben Whitehouse

Dear The Wensleydale School,
The law of Control of Asbestos regulations 2006 requires a duty
holder to be responsible for taking reasonable steps to find
asbestos on their premises and assess the condition of these
materials.
Can you please tell me what steps have been done to comply with
this regulation? Who is your duty holder?
Has any asbestos been found in the school? What assessments have
been made of any asbestos found?
Who is responsible for preparing and implementing a plan to manage
any risks and providing information on the location and condition
of the materials to anyone who is liable to disturb them.
I request answers to the above and would like electronic copies of
all information in respect of your asbestos management planning,
locations of asbestos found within the school, what is being done
to encapsulate or remove any asbestos. Please include documentation
regarding any annual reinspection to monitor the condition of
asbestos from a professional perspective.
Please include any response to previous Freedom of Information
requests you have received on this issue.
Yours faithfully,
Ben Whitehouse

Mr Whitehouse
In response to your request for information regarding our management of
asbestos, please be advised that the Headteacher - Mr Benaiges is the
manager with overall responsibility. The Site Manager - Mr Wade has some
delegated responsibility; he manages contractors that come on site and any
relevant paperwork.
In school we have a special asbestos management folder provided by the
Local Authority and it contains all the records for our school. If you
would like to make an appointment to view these records, you would be most
welcome to do so. Please address a written request to the following

Morning Ben,
I have received an email from the school about your FOI re asbestos management and they have informed me you are seeking a reply. When we spoke last week we agreed that I would supply the information for both requests and you would retract the FOI to school. Can you confirm this is still acceptable please so we don't just duplicate matters.
Regards
Phil
