Dear The Association of Chief Police Officers of England, Wales and
Northern Ireland,
I am writing under the Freedom of Information 2000, and kindly
request the following information.
1) How many police officers are routinely armed with a gun in the
UK?
2) How many police officers are routinely armed with the tasor in
the UK.
3) Regarding questions 1 and 2, could you also give each number as
a percentage compared to the total number of police officers. (eg,
10% of officers carry the tasor)
ps. By "routinely", I mean on a day to day basis.
Could I please have these facts as specific as possible?
Thanks,
Yours faithfully,
T.J.P Maughan
