Dear Mr Simpson
Your request for information has now been considered. The information
requested is as follows;
Under the Freedom of Information Act please release details of what the
Council plans to do to honour the first Armed Forces Day this
year?
All arrangements for the first Armed Forces Day are being managed by the
newly formed Peterborough Veterans Association (PVA) and not Peterborough
City Council. In the past when the day was known as Veterans Day all
arrangements were handled by Peterborough City Council but to secure
funding for the event it was necessary for PVA to be formed. For your
information the Mayor of Peterborough will be attending the event
organised by PVA.
Peterborough City Council is arranging a ceremony to Fly a Flag for our
Armed Forces on Monday 22 June 2009 at 10.30am to mark the build up to
Armed Forces Day on 27 June 2009.
Please release ALL emails, notes, memos and other communications held by
Peterborough City Council about this years Armed Forces
Day.
As Peterborough City Council has not been involved with the arrangements
for the 27 June 2009 we do not have any paperwork associated with the
event. To date we have only received a telephone call from PVA requesting
the Mayor's attendance at the celebrations they are organising.
