Dear Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead,
I was informed some time ago that part of West Windsor has been
designated as an area of social deprivation. Is this true or just a
rumour? If true then has the borough been given a grant to remedy
this and if so how is the grant used?
Yours faithfully,
Christine Whewell

Dear Christine
Further to your Information request ER63599, please find your questions
and our responses below:
I was informed some time ago that part of west Windsor has been designated
an area of social deprivation. Is this information correct and if so does
the borough receive any grants to remedy this. If it does, what grants
does it receive, how much money in involved and how is it spent?
Response: Whilst areas of deprivation are reflected in a number of
different grant allocations Formula grant, Dedicated Schools grant we
receive no specific grants targeted at areas of deprivation in the
Borough.
The website [1]http://www.imd.communities.gov.uk/Inform...
shows the Indices of Deprivation for our borough.
The most deprived area in the West of Windsor is the southern part of
Clewer North Central (this is the 2^nd most deprived area in the borough
after the eastern part of Belmont East)
The Oxford Consultants for Social Inclusion suggest that up to 1% of
government grants are targetted at areas of deprivation (See
[2]http://www.ocsi.co.uk/news/2011/03/24/wh...).
Our most deprived area only ranks in the top 28% for the country and
mostly people talk about whether an area figures in the top 10%)
