James Moore made this Freedom of Information request to Ministry of Justice

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Ministry of Justice should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

From: James Moore

20 May 2010

Dear Ministry of Justice,

Is this a Lawful Court Order? Made by HARRIS DJ, signed by someone
identified only by their (photocopied) signature "G HOOPER" who
apparently is an agent of the Court, and without a seal.

Yours faithfully,

James Moore

From: Nottingham County, Hearings

17 June 2010

Mr Moore

You sent an e-mail to the Data Access & Unit to query whether the order
you had received was valid given that there was no court seal.

Firstly, I apologise for the delay in responding to you. the query did not
fall under the remit of the Data Access Unit and it took a while to then
reach me. I have spoken to a local legal advisor who tells me that "There
is no legal requirement for an order of the FPC to be sealed. The
signature stamp of The Justices' Clerk, as the proper officer of the Court
validates the order"

I trust this addresses your enquiry.

Regards

Sue Kerr
