Dear Sir or Madam,
In your response to the Freedom Of Information request reference
RFI20080640, the BBC maintains that the news footage from September
11th 2001 is not "lost".
This is a direct contradiction to the public assertion made by
Richard Porter, head of BBC world news, when he wrote in his online
blog on 27th February 2007 (quote) "We no longer have the original
tapes of our 9/11 coverage (for reasons of cock-up, not
conspiracy). So if someone has got a recording of our output, I'd
love to get hold of it" (end quote)
(see
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/20...
)
Please provide instructions on how the license paying public can
access the archived footage from September 11th 2001.
Yours sincerely, G Stevenson
