Dear Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety
(Northern Ireland),
In his written response to a Member's question the Minister
confirmed that one hundred (100) intensive care ventilators (plus
associated equipment) were purchased between 1 April and 31
December 2009. He also confirmed the total cost of one hundred
(100) intensive care ventilators (plus associated equipment) was
£4.3m.
Please provide a detailed breakdown of (i) the associated equipment
involved; and (ii) the cost of this associated equipment?
In addition in connection with the unused Paediatric Ventilators
held by Belfast HSC Trust (including the 10 the Minister confirmed
were returned), Northern HSC Trust & Western HSC Trust please
provide a breakdown of (i) the associated equipment purchased to
support the operation of the paediatric ventilator(s); and (ii)the
cost of this associated equipment?
