Dear Merseyside Police Authority,
I hereby make this request under the Freedom of Information Act in
respect of the following:
Appraisal / Disciplinary / Arrest Target Data held by Merseyside
Police in relation to the following officers whist in their line of
duty in serving the public.
1) The total length of time they have been a police officer in any
constabulary / force.
1i) If not always with Merseyside Police from their inception and
basic training, which force did they come from and why did they
leave.
2) The length of time they have been with Merseyside Police.
3) The total number of arrests each officer has made whilst with
Merseyside Police.
4) The total number of arrests each officer has made in relation to
alleged drunk & disorderly offences.
5) The total number of arrests each officer has made in respect of
an alleged assault against them self or a fellow officer.
6) The total number of convictions secured in respect of secs. 4 &
5 above.
7) The weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual arrest target
performance of each officer.

With respect to the following Medical Practitioner retained by
Merseyside Police, namely FME. Dr. Mark, HUGHES I request the
following further information:
1) How many police officers has the above FME examined with respect
to complaints of allegations of assault against officers on duty by
detained persons during his time with Merseyside Police (or within
the last 5yrs).
2) How many of those were charged with assault P.C.
3) How many were successfully prosecuted at court.

I am writing to request an internal review of Merseyside Police
Authority's handling of my FOI request 'Appraisal / Disciplinary

I write in connection with your request for information dated, 06/09/10,
which was received by Merseyside Police on 14/02/11. I note that you seek
access to the following information:

Following receipt of your request searches were conducted within Merseyside
Police to locate information relevant to your request. I can confirm that
some of the information that you requested is held by Merseyside Police.
Extent of searches to locate information.
To locate the information relevant to your request, searches were conducted
in Force Custody & in the Information Bureau.
Result of searches.
The searches located a number of records relevant to your request.
Decision.
I have today decided to:
Fully exempt information related to your requests numbered 1 - 7 pursuant
to the provisions of Section 12 Time/Cost of the Freedom of Information Act
2000;
The information requested in Questions 8, 9 & 10 is not held.
Section 17, Freedom of Information Act, 2000, requires Merseyside Police,
when refusing to provide such information (because the information is
exempt) to provide you the applicant with a notice which:
(a) states that fact,
(b) specifies the exemption(s) in question and
(c) states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption
applies.
The information requested in Questions 1 - 7 is exempt per Section 12 of
the Freedom Of Information Act as,due to the presence of a Section 12
exemption for Questions 4 & 5, the force is not obliged to respond to these
questions until the whole request has been refined to be within the cost
limit (as per I.C.O. guidance). Following refinement further exemptions may
apply, specifically the exemption Section 40 (Personal Information) may
apply to Questions 1, 1i & 2.
