B Saunders made this Freedom of Information request to Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead

The request was successful.

From: B Saunders

30 June 2011

Dear Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead,

Please can you tell me how many children are receiving any Applied
Behavioural Analysis provision.

Please can you then tell me how many of them had Applied
Behavioural Analysis due to a tribunal order and how many receive
this without a tribunal.

Please can you forward me any policy documents that are associated
with the awarding of any Applied Behavioural Analysis provision and
demonstrate how the decision is made.

Finally, please can you explain your rationale for awarding Applied
Behavioural Analysis without tribunal orders.

Yours faithfully,

B Saunders

Dear Sir/Madam

Further to your Information request FOI63202, please find your questions
and our response below:

Please can you tell me how many children are receiving any Applied
Behavioural Analysis provision.

Response: 7

Please can you then tell me how many of them had Applied Behavioural
Analysis due to a tribunal order and how many receive this without a
tribunal.

Response: 1 with a tribunal order, the rest without

Please can you forward me any policy documents that are associated with
the awarding of any Applied Behavioural Analysis provision and demonstrate
how the decision is made.

Response: There are no such documents

Finally, please can you explain your rationale for awarding Applied
Behavioural Analysis without tribunal orders.

Response: Decisions are made entirely on a case by case basis when a
parent asks for ABA as part of their child's education through the
statement of SEN considering the individual assessment reports collected
as part of the assessment of the child's special educational needs. If we
agree that ABA would both meet the child's need and is the most cost
effective way of meeting a child's needs is through an ABA programme
(comparing the costs of the ABA programme with the costs of other
provision that could be made), then the parents' request is agreed to.
Senior officers have to agree to any such decision.

This concludes your request FOI63202.
