Dear Mr. Carter,
Thank you for your request for information set out below. Your request has been considered under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
Unfortunately, Swansea University cannot comply with your request as the data is not fully available.
You have requested UG and PG admission statistics (i.e. UCAS and direct), for the last 17 years by course: applications before/after deadline, offers, acceptances, enrolment and clearing . The information would have been available during the relevant application cycle but, because of database space issues, the data would have been deleted from our database within 5 years of the end of the application cycle
We have summary application and enrolment reports by subject area (and not course level) since 1996 for UG (when the number of application choices via UCAS changed), and since 1998 for PG (when our Admissions Office took over responsibility for PG applications). We do not have offer and acceptance level data available back to 1996/1998 respectively.
The University could provide UG and PG course level statistics for the last 5 or so years (in the categories requested) as that data is still on our application database.
Perhaps you could advise as to how you wish the University to proceed with your request?
Yours sincerely

Dear Mr.Carter,
Thank you for your request for information set out below. Your request has been considered under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
Unfortunately Swansea University cannot comply with this request as the data is not available to us.
You appear to be asking for UG and PG admission statistics (i.e. UCAS and direct) for the last 17 years by course - applications before/after deadline; offers, acceptances, enrolment and clearing . The information would have been available during the relevant application cycle but because of database space issues, the data would have been deleted from our database within 5 years of the end of the application cycle
The University has summary application and enrolment reports by subject area (and not course level) since 1996 for UG (when the number of application choices via UCAS changed), and since 1998 for PG (when the Admissions Office took over responsibility for PG apps). We do not have offer and acceptance level data available back to 1996/1998 respectively.
The University could provide UG and PG course level statistics for the last 5 or so years (in the categories requested), as that data is still on our application database and has not been archived.
This would take less than 18 hours to prepare. Perhaps you could advise the University whether you wish to proceed with your request on this basis?
Yours sincerely
