Dear Mr Carter,

I am writing in response to your recent request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ('the Act').

Under section 1(1)(a) I can confirm that the University does not hold this information. We keep admissions records for the last two years only. We have daily statistics for the last 5 years and we have end-of-month statistics going back to 1993, but the UCAS deadline appears to be mid-month.

Our statistics do not differentiate between UCAS and Direct applicants, although some categories of Direct applicants are excluded from these figures.

Our statistics would not identify applications ‘not considered for entrance’, nor would they identify whether offers made after the deadline were to applications made before or after the deadline. We would also not be able to differentiate between deferred offers and applicants who chose at some point to defer.

Our statistics are just monthly snapshots of the numbers of offers/replies per course, so would not accurately show numbers of Insurance/Firm decisions by applicants as an Insurance can change to a Firm choice during the cycle.

Should you require anything further, please do contact me again.

Yours sincerely,

Julie Archer
