The request was successful.

Dear Highways Agency,

I find Traffic England very useful. Please can you tell me what, if
any, API or similar facilities are available, or planned, so that
third parties can reuse the data?

Yours faithfully,

Andy Mabbett

Dear Mr Mabbett,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request to the Highways Agency received on 29/12/09.
I am sorry for the length of time it has taken for us to view and respond to your email. Recently we have experienced a very high volume of calls on our Highways Agency Information Line which sadly resulted in us being short of available staff to deal with emails.

Your enquiry has been passed to the relevant team within the Highways Agency and they will respond to you within a maximum of 21 working days (as required under the Freedom of Information Act).

Your reference number for this enquiry is 8855465 .

Kind regards,

Mr Mabbett

Thank you for your enquiry to the Highways Agency Information Line.

The National Traffic Control Centre is able to provide data in near real-time for the Highways Agency's network of motorways and all purpose trunk roads. The data is made available in XML format using RSS or the European DATEX II specification. Details of each specification can be found on the TIH website at www.tih.org.uk but an overview of available services is attached for your information.

I hope this answers your query but if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards

Lindsey Nock, Quality and Services Support Officer
