Dear Sir or Madam,
Please could you provide me with the statistics for recorded
Anti-social driving of motor vehicles (such as Motorcycles, private
cars, taxis, buses and HGVs) for such offences as speeding, drink
driving, parking on Mandatory Cycle Lanes etc. A simple top ten
list of the worst areas in the county with a brief breakdown of the
worst volume of offences would be ideal, however any further detail
would be very much appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
C O'Connell

In order for me to progress with this request, please could you provide

top ten list of the worst areas.
Before we can process your request please can you provide us with the
following information:
The dates you want the information to cover
What criteria we should use to establish the top-ten list, for example is
it the total number of all anti-social driving offences that have occurred
by individual road or town / city in the county.
After receiving your reply, your request will then be considered and you
will receive the information requested within the statutory timescale of 20
working days as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject to

10 March 2009
Dear Alec et al,
Thank you for your response.
By worst areas, I suppose that I refer to the Wards of Cambridge
(Petersfield, Romsey etc) and perhaps some of the surrounding
villages (if such information is easily collated). If there is
information on the major roads in the county (A14, M11, A1 and A10)
then I would be interested to see how they compare to the built up
areas.
If there isn't data to the granularity of the Wards, then I would
be happy to have Cambridge as a whole.
On the subject of timescale, obviously it would be ideal to go back
as far as records are kept, however that would be an unrealistic
demand, so I would be happy for 2008 data to be used.
When I refer to 'anti-social driving' I imagine this as Drink
Driving, Speeding, Parking in Mandatory Cycle Lanes. I am sure that
there are a number of other offences that could be classified as
Anti-social driving and I would be grateful if you could expand my
list by a couple of suggestions if that is possible.
I would then like to see each one of these requests broken down to
the 10 worst areas (I would be happy with the 5 worst if 10 is too
much) by offence.
For example:
----------------
Speeding-
1. A14 - 1321 offences
2. Sutton in the Isle - 130 offences
~
9. Ely City - 79 offences
10. Chesterton - 30 offences
-----------------------
And similarly for the other offences.
I am not interested in seeing any sort of information based on any
individual (eg. John Smith was caught speeding 140 times, drink
driving 8 times etc).
I hope that clarifies the information that I am interested in. If
you need anything else from me, please do not hesistate to ask. If
it looks like you will need more time to collate the information,
then I would be happy to discuss timescales.
Yours sincerely,
C O'Connell

This is exactly the information I was after, and more.
Thank you also for your updates on progress while you were
