ANPR and petrol garage forecourts
Alex Tabor made this Freedom of Information request to Essex Police
Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Essex Police should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.
From: Alex Tabor
27 June 2010
Dear Essex Police,
Please can you provide information regarding the use of ANPR
in the county as a whole and the use of ANPR cameras in petrol
garage forecourts, and other entrances /
forecourts to be found in motorway service stations.
In particular I would like to know:
- What towns have ANPR on public highways.
- What databases petrol garage forecourt cameras are
linked to
- what crimes are recorded on these databases and whether all
vehicles movements are stored
- how long the information is stored for
- who has the authority to mine the database to see
the past movements of innocent motorists, and under what control.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Tabor
