Another investigation using Health Service Guidelines.HSG(94)27)

D. Speers made this Freedom of Information request to South East Coast Strategic Health Authority

The request was successful.

From: D. Speers

26 August 2010

Dear South East Coast Strategic Health Authority,

Following my inquiries in February this year re the case of Samuel
Reid Wentworth and his unprovoked attach on Lucy Yates and I am
still waiting to hear the outcome of your inquiries. Tragically,
there is yet another article in a local paper about the attack by
Benjamin Frankum on Daniel Quelch.
It appears in both these cases the attackers were patients of
Sussex Partnership Trust, SEC SHA have said "We are commissioning a
review into the care and treatment Benjamin Frankum received from
the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust." I believe you are
also reviewing the care and treatment received by Samuel Reid
Wentworth.

It is my understanding that the Dept of Health issue clear guidance
on how these reviews should be carried out...HSG(94)27
...http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsands...
and give guidance on time frames too.

Please advise:
a)How long before publication of the Samuel Reid-Wentworth report ?
b) when do you envisage publication of the inquiry into Benjamin
Frankum?
c) Has DH guidance HSG(94)27 been used in both cases?

Kind Regards
Yours faithfully,

D. Speers
