for information relating to the amount of money spent by each Torfaen
Nursery or Early Years setting during the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010

I can advise that the Consistent Financial reporting system only applies
in England and at the present time we will be unable to respond your
request as we do not use this model of reporting. We may be able to help
if you can be more specific about the financial information you require.

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing in response to your e-mail of the 24^th August for
information held by the Council under the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act.

Please find attached the spreadsheet detailing the agency supply staff
used in our stand alone Nursery schools for the years requested.

However, for the eighteen Primary schools with Nursery years in their
cohort, the retrieval and extraction of information relating to agency
staff used solely in the nursery setting would take a couple of days for
each school to retrieve the invoices, analyse the detail and then collate
onto a spreadsheet. This data would then need to be collated on an
authority basis requiring data from all the relevant schools to be
verified and compiled, a task which again would take few days.

We estimate that the cost of complying with your request for those agency
staff used solely in the nursery setting at our Primary schools would
exceed the appropriate limit of £450.00. This represents the estimated
cost of one person spending 18 hours (at £25.00 per hour) in determining
whether the Council holds the information and locating, retrieving and
extracting it.

Under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act, the Council is not
obliged to comply with your request in relation to Primary schools.
