Angus -v- UK Border Agency Judgement

michael flood made this Freedom of Information request to UK Border Agency

This request has been withdrawn by the person who made it. There may be an explanation in the correspondence below.

From: michael flood

27 April 2011

Dear UK Border Agency,

I read the judgement in the case of Mrs Carol Angus. I understand
that on the 20 December 2006 she was stopped at Gatwich Airport and
had cash taken off her.

1. Was she stopped in the arrival or departure area?

2. What country was she coming from or what country was she going
to?

3. If outside the European Union had she complied with declaring
the value of the cash as required by the European Cash Control
Regulation No 1889/2005? If not, was any criminal proceeding or
fine levied on her?

Yours faithfully,

Michael Flood

Dear UK Border Agency,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of UK Border Agency's
handling of my FOI request 'Angus -v- UK Border Agency Judgement'.

I am happy with the first two parts of my FOI request.

I am not happy that you did not answer part 3, its very much in the
public interest to know if the UK are complying with its duties
under European Regulations. In this case the application of the
Regulation would have been much more effective than the mess that
was created by relying on domestic civil cash forfeiture under
POCA. The public interest is upheld by knowing if the criminal law
is not being applied in favour of cash grabs.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

michael flood

Dear FOI Requests,

I have been able to confirm from other information tools that the
UKBA did not take any proceeding under the EU Cash Regulation.
Therefore I have decided to discontinue my review application.

Yours sincerely,

michael flood
