Dear Ministry of Defence,
The MoD work in partnership with the CTP (Right Management Ltd) and
have a contract running until 2015.
How much does this service cost the MoD on an annual basis?
How many service leavers find employment DIRECTLY through the CTP
(not just those registered with them) annually?
What input do the MoD have into the range of services that the CTP
provide?
Please provide details of the service level agreement between the
MoD and the CTP.
Yours faithfully,
Geoff Shorter

[[FOI #79772 email]]
Date: 15 August 2011
Dear Mr Shorter,
Thank you for your email dated 13 July 2011, which has been considered to
be a request for information in accordance with the Freedom of Information
Act 2000. It has been passed to my department and I have been asked to
respond. First let me apologise for the lateness of my response.
You requested:
Â
"The MoD work in partnership with the CTP (Right Management Ltd) and have
a contract running until 2015.
o How much does this service cost the MoD on an annual basis?
o How many service leavers find employment DIRECTLY through the CTP (not
just those registered with them) annually?
o What input do the MoD have into the range of services that the CTP
provide?
o Please provide details of the service level agreement between the MoD
and the CTP."
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) agreement with Right Management
Ltd costs the Ministry of Defence on and annual basis, and I can inform
you that the contract costs approximately £9 Million.
Secondly, you have asked how many service leavers find employment directly
through the CTP, and this information is not held. You may be interested
to know that the services provided under the contract between the Ministry
of Defence and the CTP enables the Service leaver to transition to
civilian life; it is not a job placement contract (such as with an
employment agency).
With regard to the Ministry of Defence's input into the range of services
provided by the CTP, I can advise you that the department negotiated the
contract requirements at the Invitation To Tender stage and that the
contract is subject to a number of reviews at various stages of the
agreement and performance management criteria that are reviewed monthly
and annually. Please be assured that there is scope within the contract
for the CTP, and Ministry of Defence, to adjust the training provided to
meet emerging demands. Indeed, the training programme is adjusted to meet
identified Service requirements on an annual basis.
Finally, the Ministry of Defence does not hold a Service Level Agreement
with Right Management Ltd. As there is a contract for the services, there
is no requirement to do so.
Yours sincerely
Deputy Chief of Defence Staff - Personnel and Training
