Please provide details of:
1) How many individuals have submitted requests to you for removal
of their data from the National DNA Database in the current
financial year
2) How many of those individuals have been successful,
3) How many of the individuals referred to in serial 1 met the
"exceptional circumstances" criteria as defined by the ACPO in
their communication "Exceptional Case Procedures for Removal of
DNA, Fingerprints and PNC Records" dated 27/01/06
4) For those individuals referred to in serial 1 who were refused
their request, how many appealed
5) Of those individuals who appealed, how many were successful

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 2317/10
I write in connection with your request for information dated the
08/02/2010 which was received by Lancashire Constabulary on the same
day. I note you seek access to the following information:
*1) How many individuals have submitted requests to you for removal
of their data from the National DNA Database in the current
financial year

DNA, Fingerprints and PNC Records" dated 27/01/06
4) For those individuals referred to in serial 1 who were refused
their request, how many appealed
5) Of those individuals who appealed, how many were successful
Your request will now be considered in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act 2000, known hereafter as 'the Act'. You should receive a
response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by
the Act, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a
reference to a third party. In some circumstances Lancashire
Constabulary may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely,
you will be informed and given a revised time-scale at the earliest
opportunity.
There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed
and the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive
payment from you. If you choose not to make payment then your request
will remain unanswered.
Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to
another public authority in order to answer you query in the fullest
possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in
Lancashire Constabulary.

Dear Lancashire Constabulary,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Lancashire
Constabulary's handling of my FOI request 'Amount of requests for
removal of DNA data from the National DNA Database'.
By law, the authority should have responded promptly and by 8 Match
2010, it is now 16 March 2010.
