Amount of Money Held Due to Disputes with HMRC

Dear HM Revenue & Customs,
l would like to have the total amount of monies held by HMRC for
Companies and Individuals that are in dispute in respect of Vat
Return Reclaims, Over Payments and Inland Revenue Refunds to also
include claims which are under Extended Verification for each of
the financial years 1994 onwards and the lastest for 2009/10
financial year.

Dear Kingdom, Jane (LocalCOMP CCG QA and Complaints),
l would like to clarify the request to be amended to the following:
The amount of monies Held by HMRC under the "Extended Verification"
process. This is where Tax Refunds are verified prior to any refund
being paid.
Can you include the total monies held for each Financial year from
2005 onwards and the latest for 2009/10

your request for information. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have
allocated the reference FOI 1344/10 to your new request.
I have sought advice concerning your request and I confirm that HMRC
consider that it is still so broad that we remain of the view that to
provide a response would exceed the level of reasonable costs for
obtaining the information.
