Dear London Ambulance Service NHS Trust,

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

I am looking for information about injuries at the London Ambulance
Service sustained in the line of duty.

Specifically, could you please provide me with the following
details:

1. The number of injuries sustained by all ambulance workers in the
line of duty from 2008 to 2011. I would also request that this be
broken down by month, type of injury and ambulance station.

2. The total number of leave taken related to all ambulance workers
in the line of duty from 2008 to 2011. I would also request that
this be broken down by month, type of injury and ambulance station.

3. The maximum amount of leave available to ambulance workers and,
where relevant, reasons why any extension to this leave has been
extended, broken down by month and station.

Some parts of this request may be easier to answer than others, and
should this prove to be the case I would ask that you release
available data as soon as possible rather than hold up the entire
request.

If FOI requests of a similar nature have already been asked could
you also please include your responses to those requests.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have
received this request, and I look forward to hearing from you in
the near future.

Dear Mr Stylianou,

I should be grateful if you would clarify your Freedom of Information request as follows:

1. When you state 'all ambulance workers' do you mean all staff on operational front-line duties or all staff employed by the LAS?

2. Do you mean the total amount of sick leave taken by those 'ambulance workers' who have sustained injuries? At present it reads 'the total number of leave taken related to all ambulance workers'. Staff who have sustained injuries would not be taking annual leave.

3. Again, do you mean sick leave rather than annual leave?

Thank you for your response. I'd be happy to clarify my points.

1. I'd appreciate it if it was just all staff on operational
front-line duties.

2&3. Yes, the maximum amount of sick leave available to these
staff, how much was taken and, where relevant, where the maximum
amount has been extended.
