Freedom of Information Act request - 2009/2654 - Dog fines on Alton Estate

Dear Mr. Gigg,

I refer to your request for information relating to the numbers of
prosecutions/ fines for misuse of dog restricted areas on Alton Estate
received on 30^th July 2009.

Please see the information in response to your questions provided below:

1. How many people have been prosecuted / fined for letting their dog
use restricted grassed areas of the Alton estate.

2. Could I also have the same information regarding dog fouling.

During the period 5th August 2007 to 5th August 2009 there were 85 persons
reported for bye law or criminal offences. Nine of the 85 were on the
Alton estate SW15.

Information on these incidents on the Alton Estate is as follows:

Dec 2007 Dog Bye laws - Housing Land 4 (Dog in a dog ban area)

Jan 2008 Dog Bye laws - Housing Land 4 (Dog in a dog ban area)

April 2008 Dog Bye laws - Housing Land 4 (Dog in a dog ban area)

April 2008 Dog Bye laws - Housing Land 4 & 5 (Dog in a dog ban area
and dog fouling)

May 2008 Dog Bye Laws - Housing Land 6 (Dog off of lead in a dog on
lead area)

Sept 2008 Dog Bye laws - Housing Land 4 (Dog in a dog ban area)

There have also been approximately 500 verbal warnings issued across the
borough during the same period that are not included in these statistics.

3. I would like to know the age of the owner, type of dog, when and
where the offence occurred.

Information on the age of the dog owner, the breed of the dog and the
location of the offense would allow the individual who had been prosecuted
or fined to be identified and as such would result in the disclosure of
personal information.

of Information Act 2000. Disclosure of this information would result in a
breach of the individual's privacy and result in a breach of one or more
