Please see below the answers to your Freedom of Information Request.

As of January 2010,
1) How many allotment sites are there in Harrogate for which
Harrogate Borough Council has access to waiting list data? Three - Claro Road, Pearl Street and Ferrensby

2) What is the total number of plots on these sites? 61

3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites? 136 though some are duplicated - on more than one list

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications? No we prefer not to close waiting lists so we can understand the full demand for allotments in the District

5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in
2009? Please give:
a) number of new sites
b) names of new sites
c) total area of new land in hectares
d) total number of new plots We have not brought into use any new allotment sites in 2009, however we have recognised a high demand for allotments and as such are undertaking a feasibility study.
