Dear Burnley Borough Council,
As of January 2010, please could you tell me:
1) How many allotment sites are there in Burnley for which Burnley
Borough Council has access to waiting list data?
2) What is the total number of plots on these sites?
3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites?
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in
2009? Please give:
a) number of new sites
b) names of new sites
c) total area of new land in hectares
d) total number of new plots

3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites?
There are people waiting on all sites
Reedley - 111
Heasandford - 147
Green St - 125
Woodgrove Rd - 89
Whitegate - 72
Lumb Quarry - 34
Lawrence St - 54
West St - 43
Garden St - 58
Palace house - 26
Harold St - 12
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
No sites closed for further applications
5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in 2009?
Please give:
a) number of new sites
b) names of new sites
c) total area of new land in hectares
d) total number of new plots
No new sites - plots are split where possible when they become
vacant.
You may, if dissatisfied with the treatment of your request, ask the
council to conduct a review of its decision under the council's
complaints procedure. The review will be carried out by someone who has
not been involved in dealing with your request for information. Please
e-mail or write if you would like a review.
If, following the review, you remain dissatisfied with the council's
treatment of your request then you may take your complaint to the
Information Commissioner at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow,
Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Margaret
One point to add regarding the information on waiting lists; we allow
people to register on the waiting list for more than one allotment
site.
This means that the actual number of individuals waiting for an
allotment is fewer than waiting list would indicate.
