Dear North Dorset District Council,

As of January 2010, please could you tell me:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the council area for which
the Council has access to waiting list data?

2) What is the total number of plots on these sites?

3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in
2009? Please give:
a) number of new sites
b) names of new sites
c) total area of new land in hectares
d) total number of new plots

Thank you for your email regarding allotments.

Gillingham Town Council are responsible for the allotments in Cemetery
Road, Gillingham.

We have thirty ( 30 ) plots.

There are currently seventy eight ( 78 ) people on the waiting list with
an average waiting time of approximately five years.

No new allotment sites were brought into use in 2009, however, we are in
negotiations with landowners and hope to provide an additional site this
year.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further
assistance.

Many thanks for sending such a prompt reply.

It's good of you to pass on my request to the Town Councils, but my
interest was to know of any allotments specifically managed by NDDC
and I don't need figures from TCs. Thank you anyway.

Dear Margaret

Here is the information you requested for Blandford Forum only.

Blandford Forum has 2 council run allotments Elizabeth Rd: 18 full plots
housing 24 Tenants, waiting list 1 and Lamperds Field: 63 full plots
housing 96 tenants, waiting list 5. Both waiting lists are closed to people
not resident in Blandford, but otherwise accepting applications which will
increase from now until May. We have accomodated an increasing demand by
reducing the size of plots, but will not have scope to do this for much
longer.

We have received this information from Stalbridge Town Council. I have
therefore passed it on for your information. I hope this helps.

1) We have 1 allotment site in Stalbridge the waiting list is
operated

by the allotment society and the Council does not have direct access to

waiting list data?

2) The total number of plots on the site is 13.

3) There are 8 people on waiting list for this site.

4) The waiting lists is not closed to further applications?

5) This site was brought into use in 2009.
