I am writing in response to your request for information dated 2 January
2010. You asked the following:

As of January 2010, please could you tell me:
1) How many allotment sites are there in South Lakeland for which South
Lakeland District Council has access to waiting list data?

2) What is the total number of plots on these sites?

3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these sites?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in 2009?
Please give:
a) number of new sites
b) names of new sites
c) total area of new land in hectares
d) total number of new plots

I can confirm the following:

As of January 2010:

1, There is one allotment site in South Lakeland for which South Lakeland
District Council has access to waiting list data.

2, The total number of plots on this site is 32.
3, There are 12 people on the waiting list for this site.
4, There are no waiting lists closed to further applications.
5a, There were no new sites brought into use in 2009.
5b, I refer you to 5a.
5c, The total area of new land in hectares is zero.
5d, The total number of new plots is zero.
