8 February 2010

Dear John Harrison,

I wrote to NC on the 1st January requesting data on allotment
waiting lists (see below). I haven't yet had a respose to this,
even though by law, the authority should normally have responded
promptly and by 1 February 2010. I would be very grateful if you
could follow this up.

My request was as follows:
"1) How many allotment sites are there in the council area for
which the Council has access to waiting list data?

2) What is the total number of plots on these sites?

3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in
2009? Please give:
a) number of new sites
b) names of new sites
c) total area of new land in hectares
d) total number of new plots"

Many thanks,

Margaret Campbell

Margaret - apologies for the delay getting back to you regarding the
information you requested.

I am currently managing allotment provision in the south east area of
Northumberland (the former Blyth Valley and Wansbeck areas) until formal
management handover to the parish and town councils on April 1^St 2010.

Therefore the information I am providing relates to the south east area
only.

"1) How many allotment sites are there in the council area for

which the Council has access to waiting list data? 29

2) What is the total number of plots on these sites? 702

3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these

sites? The waiting lists are currently being reviewed and this should
be completed early next week. We will then be able to supply you with a
definitive number on the waiting list.

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications? All
waiting lists remain open

5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in

2009? Please give:

a) number of new sites 0

b) names of new sites 0

c) total area of new land in hectares 0

d) total number of new plots" 0

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further

Dear Steve Johnson,

Thank you for this, and for offering to send on the waiting list
data next week.

I realise that reorganisation has complicated everything, but you
don't really explain about responding to the request for data on
the other areas of Northumberland.

Yours sincerely,

Margaret Campbell

Margaret - for administration and operational purposes Northumberland County County Council is divided into 3 areas or districts. They are the northern area, the western area and the south east area (where I work).

Currently I am administering allotment provision in the south east area and the only data I am able to provide relates to allotments in the south east area.

I am not sure who currently administers allotment provision in the northern and western areas.

Therefore I enclose the e mail addresses for the northern and western area managers who may be able to assist you further.

The northern area manager is [email address]

The western area manager is [email address]

Thanks,

9 March 2010

Dear John Harrison,

In a request on the 1st January and a reminder on the 8th February
I asked for information on Northumberland Council's allotment
waiting lists. In your response of the 8th February you said that
you'd passed my reminder on to the Officers concerned.

Another month has now passed and I don't yet have the requested
information. I have heard from Steve Johnson in the SE Area, who
has explained that the data from the south east area should be
available next week.

I would be grateful if you could now ensure that either I am
supplied promptly with the information from the northern and
western areas, or with an explanation of why this is not possible.

Yours sincerely,

Margaret Campbell
