Dear Sir or Madam,
As of December 2008, please could you tell me:
1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data?
2) How many plots are on these sites?
3) How many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?
Yours faithfully,

Hello Margaret
The council has a total of 23 Allotment sites and 21 of these have waiting
lists, the other two sites which are Paignton Rd and Studland Rd have
vacancies.
There are a total of 1700 plots but without the 2 sites with vacancies
there are 1257 plots. If you look at the allotment web pages on the
Southampton City Council website it has info on number of plots on each
site.
The waiting lists vary from only 4 on reserve for one site and 120 on
another one and several people are on reserve for more than one site. The
total number of people on the waiting lists are 1488.
All sites are still open to people wanting to put their name on the
waiting lists, there are no plans to close any lists.
I hope this information is sufficient but please do not hesitate to
contact me if you require any further info.
Thanks
Sue Ashdown
Allotment officer
