Lancaster City Council

Dear Ms Campbell,

Following your request for information on allotments under the Freedom of
Information Act, which has been passed to me, please find the information
you requested below:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which the
council has access to waiting list data?

Lancaster City Council does not hold any waiting list data for the
allotments in Lancaster district. All Lancaster City Council owned
allotments are self-managed by Allotment Associations whilst other
privately and Parish owned allotments hold their own records independently
from the City Council.

2) How many plots are on these sites?

As at November 2007 there were a total of 570 plots on the 12 Lancaster
City Council owned sites. Lancaster City Council holds no information on
the number of plots on privately and Parish owned allotment sites.

3) How many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?

Lancaster City Council does not hold any waiting list data for the
allotments in Lancaster district.

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

Not to Lancaster City Council's knowledge.

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

There are 18 sites in Lancaster district including 12 Lancaster City
Council owned sites, 3 privately owned allotment sites (including 1
privately owned allotment project running as a community garden) and 3
Parish owned allotment sites.

Best wishes,

Jill Wesolowski
