Dear Sir or Madam,

As of December 2008, please could you tell me:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data?

2) How many plots are on these sites?

3) How many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

Yours faithfully,

Margaret Campbell

Well done Margaret. A comment about this. Despite the fact that the Council here says there are no vacant plots - quite a number of plots are in fact derelict. I can think of at least four near me that have had no one working them since February. I believe these should be brought into circulation by the council as the waiting lists are large.

The situation on other sites around here seems to be similar. Should someone ask about the numbers of DERELICT plots? And why have they been allowed to become DERELICT?
Regards
Frances Laing
